Thiago Rondon

In opensips website (http://www.opensips.org/Resources/DocsTutorials)
are there one about how to install in Red Hat EL 5, but you can try to
install in Fedora by read this tutorial and make a new tutorial for
fedora, based in this one.

If you have any problems, please send to mailing list, what do you
doesnt understand...

On FC9 I have this basic problem:
I can start using
  opensipsctl start

but service opensips start does not return, it blocks and never shows the [OK]:

[root@sandbox ~]# service opensips start
Starting opensips:

Have you met this problem ?

OpenSIPs installs much like any other application. It's a very complicated system. Even after you've compiled and installed OpenSIPs, there is still much configuration to do, which is significantly more complicated than compilation and installation.

Installation shouldn't be any different on Fedora 10 than it is on other platforms. If you are having a specific problem, I suggest you ask a more specific question, like "what does it mean that mysql.h can't be found", or "I saw an error that 'bison' wasn't found, is that ok"..

Re: [OpenSIPS-Users] How to install opensips on Fedora10 ? I had this problem in CentOS.  I forget exactly how I fixed it but I do remember it had something to do with the /etc/init.d/opensips file.  I’ve attached the one I’m using now.

We were able to install OpenSIPS, Free Radius 1.1.7, OpenXcap,  Mediaproxy, CDRTool 6.7.8, MSRPRelay on Fedora Core 10 by following the instructions on how to install using the packages.  However, my friend modified my computer's repository configuration and downloaded the packages to our local server so that I won't be able to update any application unintentionally(accidentally).  Everytime that I update my computer it just looks for the updated package(s) version on our local server.  My friend is away and will not be able to create the a new updated package on the local server.  I am a newbie to any LINUX OS, any help on how to reconfigure my repository and create updated packages specially for the CDRTool 6.8.  By the way I just used the yum install {application} command in installing all the applications.  Thank you!

Well, I don't think opensips installed any daemon on my server.

try just run "opensips"
or "nohup opensips > opensips.log &"

In each case, you need to stop the opensips by kill the process

Basic call failed

XIN Xiuhe
In reply to this post by bay2x1

Hi,

I tried to use opensips to make a basic call, but failed.

user A:  33330004@40.0.0.165
user B:  33330003@40.0.0.165
Both of them registered with opensips(ip address: 40.0.0.164)
successfully.

User A off hook and call user B, after opensips received the invite
message, it should send it to 40.0.0.165,
but from the trace (attached "basiccall.pcap"), it send it to
40.0.0.164.

What is the root cause, can somebody give some ideas?

Thanks !

Hi, uwe

Please find attached opensips.cfg.

I don't know what you mean, do you mean user A and B's contact info?

Re: Basic call failed

Uwe Kastens
Hi,

looks like your opensips will handle @40.0.0.164 as not local, so it
will not ask your location db. Maybe you should entry the domain
40.0.0.164 in your domain table in mysql

BR
