Opensips MediaProxy Integration

Mike Tesliuk
Hello Guys,

Im trying to implement the opensips with mediaproxy to try the CDRTool application, i have start mediaproxy-relay and dispatcher

tcp        0      0 204.16.XX.XX:25060       204.16.XX.XX:49684       ESTABELECIDA 14108/python
tcp        0      0 204.16.XX.XX:49684       204.16.XX.XX:25060       ESTABELECIDA 14268/python

and have i configure opensips to use mi_datagram how i see on some examples, i try to use engage_media_proxy and use_media_proxy , but i dont get
any message on my syslog and have no audio.

below the relevant part of my mediaproxy config.ini file

[Relay]
dispatchers = 204.16.XX.XX
passport = None
relay_ip = 204.16.XX.XX
port_range = 50000:60000
log_level = DEBUG

[Dispatcher]
management_use_tls = no
passport = None
log_level = DEBUG
accounting = radius,database

[TLS]
certs_path = tls
verify_interval = 300

[Database]
dburi = mysql://mediaproxy:_MY_PASS_@
localhost/mediaproxy

[Radius]
config_file = /etc/opensips/radius/client.conf
additional_dictionary = radius/dictionary

[OpenSIPS]
socket_path = /var/run/opensips/opensips.sock
max_connections = 50

and below my relevant opensips.cfg part

modparam("mediaproxy", "disable", 1)
modparam("mediaproxy", "mediaproxy_socket", "/var/run/mediaproxy/dispatcher.sock")
modparam("mediaproxy", "mediaproxy_timeout", 500)
modparam("mediaproxy", "signaling_ip_avp", "$avp(s:nat_ip)")
modparam("mediaproxy", "media_relay_avp", "$avp(s:media_relay)")
modparam("mi_datagram", "socket_name", "/var/run/opensips/opensips.sock")
modparam("mi_datagram", "children_count", 4)

......

on my main route

        if (is_method("INVITE")) {
                setflag(1); # do accounting
                $avp(s:can_uri) = $ru;
                xlog("MIKE: ativando media_proxy");
                use_media_proxy();
        }

but i just get my xlog on syslog, i dont have any message on syslog from mediaproxy.

somebody can help me to know how can i put mediaproxy to work ?

Thanks

Did you set the nat_ip AVP? If you haven't, better remove the modparam and let mediaproxy take the source IP automatically.

Hi,

And use only one of engage_media_proxy and use_media_proxy, preferable use_media_proxy.

Why is use_media_proxy preferable for you? Actually engage_media_proxy is a lot easier to use :-)

Well, engage_media_proxy will just use the dialog module to install some callbacks and call use_media_proxy and end_media_session automagically, so there is not much difference there.

Re: Opensips MediaProxy Integration

Mike Tesliuk
Ok, this problem is about the dialog module, the time of the hangup is defined by my dialog module, but why ? i think that the dialog is ok and the call was stablished, why is dialog assuming the hangup ?

Almost :)

Im getting two issues yet.

1). When i do a call im getting a good call but with 1 minute the call is finished on mediaproxy, i don know how solve this, i read on list the same kind of issue but was a problem with iptables, i dont have any iptables rule on my server  from now.

i get a lot of this message about tm module, but i dont know how to solve, and with 1 minute i get a port close from mediaproxy

i verify on my debug (ngrep) and i dont have any message when i get no sound anymore.

The second question is about aaa_radius

im getting this message from opensips on syslog

Aug 18 15:18:17 ser1-vm media-dispatcher[24931]: error: failed to send radius accounting record:

but i have radius working

and when i do a freeradius -X to verify the question i dont receive on my radius any request

i configure my opensips/radius/client.conf with localhost and opensips send me other request's (below a sample)

MediaProxy doesn't terminate a dialog unless both parties are not sending RTP (conntrack rule times out). You'll have to dig in your config...

Re: Opensips MediaProxy Integration

Vlad Paiu
In reply to this post by Mike Tesliuk
Hello,

It seems that the Dialog module thinks that the dialog expired, because it has been ongoing for longer than the configured dialog timeout .

What value have you configured for the  default_timeout parameter in the dialog module ? Or maybe you are using the timeout_avp param ?

Aug 18 15:17:42 ser1-vm /sbin/opensips[25261]: DBG:tm:insert_timer_unsafe: [3]: 0xb3393350 (28)

i get a lot of this message about tm module, but i dont know how to solve, and with 1 minute i get a port close from mediaproxy

i verify on my debug (ngrep) and i dont have any message when i get no sound anymore.

The second question is about aaa_radius

im getting this message from opensips on syslog

Aug 18 15:18:17 ser1-vm media-dispatcher[24931]: error: failed to send radius accounting record:
Aug 18 15:18:21 ser1-vm /sbin/opensips[25258]: rc_send_server: no reply from RADIUS server localhost:1813
Aug 18 15:18:21 ser1-vm /sbin/opensips[25258]: ERROR:acc:acc_aaa_request: Radius accounting request failed for status: 'Stop' Call-Id: '[hidden email]'

but i have radius working

udp        0      0 0.0.0.0:1812            0.0.0.0:*
      23865/freeradius
udp        0      0 0.0.0.0:1813            0.0.0.0:*                           23865/freeradius

and when i do a freeradius -X to verify the question i dont receive on my radius any request

i configure my opensips/radius/client.conf with localhost and opensips send me other request's (below a sample)

rlm_detail: /var/log/freeradius/radacct/%{Client-IP-Address}/detail-%Y%m%d expands to /var/log/freeradius/radacct/127.0.0.1/detail-20110818

Re: Opensips MediaProxy Integration

Hello,

It seems that the Dialog module thinks that the dialog expired, because it has been ongoing for longer than the configured dialog timeout .

What value have you configured for the  default_timeout parameter in the dialog module ? Or maybe you are using the timeout_avp param ?

Well, i remove the configuration from proxy on freeradius based on this post ( http://www.openser.org/pipermail/users/2009-November/009489.html ) , this solve my issue about the tm module and no reply from freeradius, but i stay with the 1 minute call problem.

But now i have some new messages

Re: Opensips MediaProxy Integration

Mike Tesliuk
The problem was the default_timeout, i assume that if the call was established the default_timeout value would be discard, so, i remove the parameter and all work fine (the documentation say that will be assumed a value of 12 hour as default value)
